I wanted to do this for my AP portfolio... but I never got a chance to finish it in time ; A ; *sob*
oh well *shrug* I did this entirely with ink! yay! and some gouache and a red pen too... mmm.. yeeuppp ooohh.. and a sharpie to outline 8D if anyone doesn't know the story of persephone: The goddess of the earth, Demeter, cared for her only daughter, Persephone, with all her heart, so much so that she hid her daughter away from the other gods so that none may woo her. The days of summer were full of life and flowers until Hades, struck by Persephone's beauty, broke through the earth from his underground kingdom and kidnapped her. Demeter, wrought with sorrow, neglected her duty to the earth and all plant life began to die and everything became barren and cold. Zeus was sickened by the diseased earth and sent for persephone to be returned. Before she was taken away from her prison in the underwrold, she was tricked by Hades into eating three seeds from a pomegranate. Because of this, she cannot stay with her mother above ground, but must return to her throne for half of every year. Thus bringing the turning of the seasons, winter to summer. She is also referred to as "The Iron Queen"  |

Your take on Persephone is marvelous; I love the contrast between the red of the pomegranate and the juice dribbling from her lips, and the gray tone of the rest of the piece :> I esp. love her hair omg <33 complex hair is one of my favorite things in the world hahaha
